Product Description Full Random Play / 3 Custom Mode Groupings / 15 track Best Selection Memory / 3 Playback Modes: Single Disc, All Disc, Custom / 3 Random Play Modes
Amazon.com Product Description Keep the music playing with Pioneer's PD-F407 25-disc CD player. The slot-loading changer helps you organize and get creative about how you listen. In addition to its standard features (play, repeat, 32-track programming), the PD-F407 has a few that are more unusual--and perfect for a CD jukebox. "Best play" is a one-touch trick that lets you commit any 15 tracks to the PD-F407's memory. Just hit the BEST button while a track is playing and the player will automatically store that track in memory. Later, on hitting "best play," the unit will play back all 15 tracks in sequence. Another cool feature is "previous-disc scan," which simply plays the opening ten seconds of the last 15 discs played. The PD-F407 also lets you create up to 3 custom files, or groups, with no limit to the number of CDs in each file. This is a terrific way to file discs by genre or by favorite artist. When you hit play after having hit stop or turned the unit off, it will begin playing the last disc before shutdown. What's more, your programmed sequences are preserved even when powering down thanks to Pioneer's memory hold feature. Select random playback to let the player choose selections from among all 25 discs, from a single disc, or from a designated "custom" file. A "Hi-Lite" button plays a 10-second portion of the first track on each disc. There are also many variations on all of these programmable features, depending upon what mode you are using at the time.

Good Changer, Terrible Manual July 2, 2009 The changer quality is great but I can't seem to get it to use the supposedly built-in 3 custom programs per the manual - it seems to want a remote button called "disc set" which the unit doesn't have. If anyone has gotten this to work please tell me how.
EVERYONE WAS RIGHT! June 24, 2009 All the reviews I read, gave this CD changer a thumbs up-- and they were RIGHT!! No, it ain't perfect, but it's an excellent value. It plays great; has lots of options; and has an easy to use sensible design. Oh, one more thing- I only use the analog output, and the unit sounds fantastic!
a very good multiple CD changer May 31, 2009 This changes 25 CD's seamlessly. It is extremely easy to load and to switch one or two CD's. It's only lack is a remote. Be aware that you NEED an amplifier and speakers. This is not made specifically clear in the ads.
My CD's Are Happy, I'm Happy May 22, 2009 This is my third Pioneer CD changer, so I obviously like Pioneer products even though each one that have bit the dust was because of a CD getting stuck in the changing mechanism that couldn't be removed without taking the thing apart. I never could get them back to functioning properly.
The important difference is that on the older Pioneer CD changers, a magazine that held six CD's was inserted into the changer. It was these that malfunctioned that caused the CD's to get stuck, so I'm encouraged that Pioneer recognized the problem and fixed it. This changer has a rack that seems less prone to mechanical malfunction.
Unlike other reviewers, I didn't find the changer to be noisy or slow. It has played all of the CD formats I have given it, including some that were intended to be data CD's. I have burned a lot of CD's over the years, and even ones that are 10 years old or more play just fine. The instruction manual states that CD's must have the "DISC" notation on them to be played. This is not the case.
My only complaints, and the reason I gave four stars instead of five are: (1) no remote, (2) doesn't read CD titles (3) There is no labeling system. I noticed that there is a European model that is just like this that has a changer and a file to put your CD liners in so you know what is where. Each time I load it, I have to make up a spreadsheet and write which CD is in what position in order to know where things are. I really wish I could have bought the European version.
cd player April 30, 2009 I love the multi player, you can load it and go away, It plays for hours. Simple to use and easy to understand.
