The store mentioned in the other reviews seems to be the popular place to get this TV. One can't beat the price, which has recently been lowered to under $450.
Unfortunately, for me, this TV was a no go. The unit itself was beautiful and the picture as good as any of the other TVs on store's shelf. However, I wound up returning my unit. I was getting screen burn after only 2 minutes (seriously, I timed it. Very noticeable after setting up my DVD player - text stuck on screen, and between scenes on DVDs - I would see the top and bottom letterbox bars burned in) and would have to run the white-wash screen cleaner for several hours to remove the burn in. (Horrible when tv is in the bedroom! Can't sleep.) This burn in issue should not be the case with Plasma TVs these days.
In addition, I found the remote very limiting. There is no closed captioning button on the remote and I need to use this option often to turn the CC on and off. Instead, one has to go through multiple menus through the setup functionality in order to toggle closed captioning on and off. Also, there was no way to determine signal strength of channels being received by antenna. I needed this to calibrate properly. Fortunately, my el-cheapo 19 inch TV does this so I could still calibrate.
One last note. Due to the screen burn issue, I called Vizio's customer support. They answered promptly, and seemed to be in America (perfect, non-accented English.) They claimed the screen burn in issue shouldn't occur as it did, and recommended I simply return it. After reading through the reviews on the store's site, I found that screen burn in was a somewhat common issue, so I chose not to get a replacement unit.
I give the TV five stars for picture, looks, price, and availability of Vizio's customer support. I give it 1 star for screen burn in, lack of remote features, and lack of signal strength indicator. I would be very interested in hearing about other's experiences related to screen burn in. If it truly was just a defective unit and if they were to update the remote control in the next model, I would consider trying out this brand and type of TV again.

Like the other reviewer I got this from W**-Mart due to the price. The picture is fantastic, way better than the TV it replaces (a ViewSonic). It picks up HBO and Flix on unencrypted channels which switch numbers sometimes (Comcast changes which unencrypted channels go where periodically, I notice). The TV has numerous input types; I believe every type is covered. I have this TV connected to a Panasonic DVD-R/VCR and DVD playback is also superb.
I don't mind the remote because I often watch in the dark and the channel and volume buttons are easy to find by feel. Also, I read that plasma is supposed to use more energy than LCD, but my first HDTV was LCD and this one seems to use about the same energy, meaning my electric bill did not go up at all. If I did have a complaint it would be how limited the sleep timer is (only up to 90 minutes; my old TV went up to 2 hours and had smaller increments) and the lack of a clock you can call up by clicking an "Info" button. But if I never had those features, I would probably never miss them. I paid a little over five-hundred for mine, but the price has dropped since then.

I bought this from Walmart not Amazon but this tv contends with others nearly double the price. I thought they would try to cheap out and give one HDMI port because of the low cost but it has three! Great for connecting cable/sat, dvd player and a gaming console all at once. For those that dont know much about hdtv's HDMI is the best connection from a device to the tv. It has NO quality loss in the process unlike a Component connection. HDMI also carrys audio in the same wire cutting down on sloppy wires in a tangled mess. The picture quality is equal to Sony and other major brands I seen side by side in stores. Only thing negative I can think of is the remote has two UGLY buttons, the volume and channel. But not buying this tv for a tiny cosmetic problem on the remote is crazy. I wouldnt normally give anything five stars but with what Vizio gives you in comparison with the price they get it.
